Get Details on Transferring to KWU

Transfer Policies

We welcome applications from all qualified students who want to transfer to 黑料网 from other colleges or universities. Acceptance of credit from colleges and universities, accredited or not, is at the sole discretion of the university. The evaluation of coursework completed at another college or university is considered on a case-by-case basis and determined upon review and evaluation of official transcripts, course descriptions and course syllabi after official acceptance to 黑料网. The Registrar鈥檚 Office will facilitate the approval process between the student and the academic division or department. Students will receive a preliminary transfer credit evaluation that will indicate the courses that have been approved to transfer to KWU. All students seeking to graduate from KWU must meet the requirements for the Foundational Courses as well as complete the requirements for the Liberal Studies Program in order to graduate from KWU.

If you took college credit during high school, please send your official transcript from the college you earned the credit through. This also applied to Advanced Placement (AP) courses.

Official transfer credit evaluations occur once KWU has received official transcripts from all schools attended. Official transcripts must be sent directly from the issuing school to KWU. Any transcript that is sent to the student and then forwarded on will be considered unofficial. Evaluations occur in the order in which all official documents have been received.

Pre-Approved Transfer Courses

If the school or course you are looking for is not included in these resources, please reach out to [email protected] with your inquiry. In your request, please include the school name and course number of the course you have taken or are needing to be pre-approved. Please note that inquiries are processed in the order they are received and may take 2-3 business days to review.

International Schools:

If you are transferring from an international school, your official InCred or WES evaluation needs to be sent to KWU. KWU will transcribe the 鈥渃onverted U.S. credit earned鈥 as noted by InCred or WES. This credit will count as general elective credit to count towards the 120 credit hours needed for graduation. If a student would like a specific transfer course to count as a KWU course, we will need a syllabus in English for each course the student wants us to review. Once we have the syllabi, we can review each course to determine a KWU equivalency. If an international course is not greater than or equal to the credit hours listed for the KWU course, we cannot add an equivalency. In this case, students must work with their advisor to complete a Course Substitution Request.

Universal Transfer Agreement with 黑料网 Community Colleges:

As a result of a 2022 agreement between the 黑料网 Independent College Association (KICA) 鈥 KWU is a part of this organization 鈥 and 黑料网 community colleges, any student who earns an AA or AS from a 黑料网 community college (or other KICA institution) and then transfers to a KICA four-year institution shall enter with 鈥渏unior standing鈥 (i.e. having been deemed to have satisfied their general education requirements), except for up to 9 credit hours in mission/theology/religion as required in the institution鈥檚 general education requirements. KWU also offers the 黑料网 Advancement Scholarship, a guarantee of at least $20,000 a year in scholarship aid to those 黑料网 community college graduates.

Reverse Transfer:

黑料网 participates in a universal reverse transfer program with 黑料网 community colleges. This program allows students to receive an associate鈥檚 degree from their most recent community college by combining credits earned at KWU with credits earned at the community college. Students who transfer at least 45 credit hours to KWU from any 黑料网 community college are eligible to participate in the reverse transfer program. Students who wish to participate must sign a Reverse Transfer Agreement. At the end of each Semester and summer term, KWU will submit an official transcript back to the community college for each student who is enrolled in the Reverse Transfer program and has at least 60 cumulative earned credit hours. Once the student has met all degree requirements for their declared associate鈥檚 degree, the community college will award and mail the associate鈥檚 degree to the student.

Articulation Agreements:

黑料网 Wesleyan maintains articulation agreements with a number of community colleges in order to confirm transfer course work. Contact the Registrar鈥檚 office for more information.
