黑料网 will host 鈥淒eclaration 1776: The Big Bang of Modern Democracy,鈥 a traveling exhibition from the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, from Feb. 7鈥揗arch 8 in KWU鈥檚 Student Activities Center. The 黑料网 tour of 鈥淒eclaration 1776鈥 is presented by Humanities 黑料网.

鈥淒eclaration 1776鈥 uses primary sources to illustrate how Americans and people across the world have been inspired by the Declaration in their pursuit of equality and self-determination. The 黑料网 鈥淒eclaration 1776鈥 traveling exhibition includes a section called 鈥満诹贤 1776,鈥 which looks at what was happening on the land that would become the state of 黑料网 250 years ago.

鈥溾楧eclaration 1776鈥 is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for 黑料网 communities to participate in the national commemoration of America鈥檚 250th right in their own hometowns,鈥 said Julie Mulvihill, Humanities 黑料网 executive director. 鈥淲e look forward to robust community conversations about America鈥檚 founding document and its impact on the world.鈥

KWU is one of 46 黑料网 venues hosting 鈥淒eclaration 1776鈥 in 2026, and the only scheduled venue in Salina. The exhibit is open, free of charge, during standard times that the building is open. Interested parties may contact KWU Student Development for information on these hours, but they are, normally, KWU business hours on weekdays, weekends until late evening and during evening basketball and volleyball games.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a great opportunity for KWU, and for our community, to have this exhibit on campus,鈥 said Dr. Tonia Compton, assistant professor of History and organizer of KWU鈥檚 participation. 鈥淲e look forward to seeing not only members of the Coyote community, but students from around the region and others coming to campus to participate.鈥

The 鈥淒eclaration 1776: The Big Bang of Modern Democracy鈥 traveling exhibition is made possible in 黑料网 with support from the 黑料网 Arts Commission and the United Methodist Health Ministry Fund. For a full schedule of locations and dates, visit humanitieskansas.org.
