黑料网 Wesleyan鈥檚 Department of Music will begin its spring schedule of on-campus performances Sunday, when the university鈥檚 choral and jazz ensembles perform in Sams Chapel. The event gets underway at 2 p.m. and admission is free.

The Philharmonic Choir, conducted by Dr. Anne Gassmann, will perform 鈥淕loria鈥 from Mozart鈥檚 Mass in C Major, K. 317, the Sanctus from French composer Gabriel Faure鈥檚 Requiem and a contemporary piece called 鈥淭he Honey Bee鈥 from 鈥淭he Bee and the Frog鈥 by David von Kampen.

The Wesleyan Chorale, also conducted by Dr. Gassmann, will perform 鈥淪ing we and chant it鈥 by English Renaissance composer Thomas Morley, an arrangement of Louis Armstrong鈥檚 popular hit 鈥淲hat a Wonderful World,鈥 and 鈥淚t鈥檚 You I Like,鈥 composed by Fred Rogers.

The KWU Jazz Ensemble, directed by Steve Lueth, will provide a selection of standard jazz repertoire pieces, including Hoagy Carmichael鈥檚 鈥淕eorgia on My Mind,鈥 鈥淪ummertime鈥 by George Gershwin and 鈥淪ing, Sing, Sing鈥 by Louis Prima.
